EFCA Statement of Faith, Point 1

This summer I am helping to teach the Welcome to the Family class during our Sunday School hour. This is a class for new members, or those who may be considering membership in our church.

This week, we begin to make our way through our Statement of Faith. I am going to post each of the ten points in a separate post, and twice within each post: 1) the bare text, and 2) the text with Scripture references. The Evangelical Free Church of America is an association of autonomous churches united around these theological convictions:

1. We believe in one God, Creator of all things, holy, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in a loving unity of three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Having limitless knowledge and sovereign power, God has graciously purposed from eternity to redeem a people for Himself and to make all things new for His own glory.
